The CanaryQ whole blood plasma separator is a unique filtering system used to improve separation of anticoagulated whole blood. Whole blood collected in anticoagulant reagents (EDTA, heparin, citrate, etc.) can be used with this specific device. A CanaryQ whole blood plasma separator can filter 100 ul of blood.

All CanaryQ separators are single-use consumables that are ideal for assays that use small quantities of blood. CanaryQ separators are pressure-driven devices eliminating the need for a centrifuge. Cells can be easily separated to quickly reduce cell and plasma interactions that can affect clinical chemistry test results.   

Blood fractionation can be done in less than a minute cutting down on waiting times. Separators provide cell-free plasma without inducing hemolysis all while reducing error-prone steps such as buffy coat disruption. 

The cell-free plasma provided by the CanaryQ separators can be used to quickly look for important biomarkers like those found in a lipid panel (e.g. cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides) or hormone panel (e.g. testosterone, cortisol, etc.) and so much more. Depending on the filtering system used, analyte recovery can be anywhere from 60% to 100%. 

Automation-friendly, our separators can fit on most liquid handling platforms for your high-throughput needs. CanaryQ separators can also be used for point of care or resource limited settings.
